Top Grooming Tips For Men

When it comes time to shaving many men have different feelings and perspectives on it. Some men enjoy the close shave and will not notice anything unusual with their skin such as breakouts and ingrown hairs where others despise shaving due to these issues. Ingrown hairs are something that many men will experience at least once in their live time. They are very uncomfortable and hurt very much and there really is no way to help this when it already exists. There are different ways you can prep your skin before shaving to decrease the ingrown hairs which may occur.

Many grooming gurus will have men wrap a warm towel around their face and neck area where they will be shaving. This will open the pores a bit more and will give your skin a softer approach when it is time for the razor. You also want to look at your skin and analyze if there are any problem areas such as irritable skin or pimples which exist already on your skins surface before shaving. You want to avoid shaving over these spots to prevent more irritation to the existing area. Running the sharp razor blade over the irritable skin will just make the area more sore and may also cause infection.

If you have ingrown hairs try to avoid shaving on the weekends. Yes, it may be hard in the beginning but your skin needs a break from the razor once in awhile. This will give your skin a break from irritation and more ingrown hairs which may occur. It will not hurt to skin two or three days but help in the long run. You also want to avoid high collars on shirts. By doing this you will trap sweat and other oils from your skin which exits causing clogged pores. And one large suggestion men’s grooming gurus suggest is to avoid electric shavers for good. Electric shavers are designed to just cut the hair no matter which way it grows. Every man has many different directions of hair growth on their face when it comes time to shaving. This may be a large factor in ingrown facial hair due to the follicle growing back into the skin due to the way it was cut.

After all the shaving is complete you always want to finish off with an SPF moisturizing lotion for the face. This will cut back on dry skin and also hydrate the skin of all the moisture it looses daily from working out at the gym and other strenuous activity you do. Men’s grooming does not have to be complicated and hard. It just takes time and effort to make sure your skin is flawless and healthy just like the day you were born. It is something we have to live with every day so you want it to be at its best.
