Can Bikini Razor Bumps Be Completely Removed?

It’s summer time or spring break and you long to get into that hot new bikini that you just purchased from either Victoria Secret or an online catalog and just hit the beach. But there is a hindrance; unsightly razor bumps. In many cases, in order to wear a high cut bikini, one has to shave their bikini area and in some cases that inadvertently causes razor bumps. Razor bumps are a result of ingrown hairs which curl inward and pierce while re-entering. This causes irritation and inflammation which in many causes breaks out into a red rash filled with pus. This can be very painful and cause permanent scarring.

Millions of women, whether they are intending to wear a high-cut bikini or not, battle with razor bumps. This is because it is now considered fashionable to shave the bikini area whether one is in the entertainment industry or nor. Proponents of a clean shave insist that it is hygienic not to mention more feminine to have as less hair on the body as possible. Hair removal salons are experiencing an influx of customers some of whom come for laser hair removal which is permanent. So how can bikini razor bumps be removed?

The very first thing you must do is ensure that you always buy new razors. Many women re-use their razor an average of six times. This is a sure recipe for razor bumps. This is because a dull blade does not do a good job of shaving closely. This uncut hair then regrows and curls inward thereby piercing the skin as it re-enters. This causes razor bump irritation and inflammation not to mention unsightly pimples. Always buy new razors and try as much as possible not to reuse them.

Also, not all razors are the same. Some razors are cheap while some are more expensive. It is understandable that we are in touch economic times. But if you can help it, avoid cheap razors.

Buy shaving cremes and gels. These are numerous in many stores and pharmacies and are reasonably priced. Then there are the more expensive ones that cost over $50 per treatment. It is good to mention that even if you purchase the best cremes and ointments to defeat razor bumps, you must compliment this by using a good new razor.

To defeat razor bumps, you must shave after or during hot or warm showers. This softens the skin and also makes the hair smoother. In this state, it is then easy to shave. When shaving, use a new razor, shaving gel or creme and do not shave against the growth of the hair. Use short strokes and do not repeat the strokes.

Razor bumps can also be defeated by shaving more often. This is because the more often you shave, the less likely hair will have time to re-grow and re-puncture the skin.
