Are You Shaving Your Armpits Properly?

It’s very rare to find women with unshaved armpits. Those who don’t clear the amazon from their under-arms often keep it due to tradition, religious, or cultural reasons. For men, shaving their armpits is gradually becoming a fashion statement of sort, although athletes and models have been doing it for years – especially bodybuilders. Based on questions posted on many online forums, it is clear that many people still don’t know how to shave their armpits properly. The aim of this article is thus to show them the right way to go about doing it so that they end up owning smooth hair free, razor burn free, and cut free armpits.

a) If your armpit hairs are very long, use a small scissor to trim them down to make shaving easier.

b) It is a fact that warm water will soften hairs. It is thus best to shave when taking a shower, especially towards the end of the shower as the hairs should be sufficiently soft by then. This will not only increased the chances of getting a clean shave but also reduce the possibility of getting red bumps, shaving rash, or general soreness.

c) Apply gel or a shaving cream and work it up into a lather. Make sure all the hairs are covered.

d) Next, raise your arm and gently slide the razor from the top to the bottom of the armpit. Repeat this simple procedure until all the shaving cream or gel has been removed. Rinse the razor often to prevent it from clogging.

e) To get an even closer shave, now is the time to do it. This is how you do it – shave it in the opposite direction, i.e. from bottom to top and not top to bottom.

f) Repeat the same procedure for the other armpit.

g) What happens if you accidentally cut yourself? Rinse the affected area with cold water and use a piece of clean cloth or tissue to clean it further.

h) The last step is important. After the shower and shaving is done, abstain from rubbing the parts which you have just shaved. If you rub it, you are likely to end up with soreness and red bumps. What you should do instead is gently dry the area with a towel and then apply moisturizer.
